RICE ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Rice Electric Vehicle Team (REV) is a student-run organization that designs and constructs electric powered efficiency vehicles and enters local, national, and international efficiency car competitions. This unique interdisciplinary group of students represents all academic years and over ten different majors at Rice University. Through REV, Rice Undergraduates can participate in a large-scale, multidisciplinary design project, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in design and engineering and work alongside students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds.

I worked on this project as the Steering Team Lead, helping create a fully functional electric vehicle to compete in the annual Shell Eco-marathon. I researched steering methods, created CAD models of steering components in SolidWorks for idea visualization, performed stress simulations, rapid prototyping of choices, and implemented final build of solution into the vehicle. I traveled to the Motor City of Detroit during the competition and troubleshot issues to prepare the vehicle to hit the track.
